The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Surgery Part 1 written @ 6:08 PM on November 27, 2003 Well, since I'm updating my diary, I think it's apparent to the populaces that I survived my wisdom tooth surgery. The story: I woke up yesterday morning with a splitting migraine and a wretched stomach ache for what I considered an impending doom. I said not a word all morning, but I could not keep from glaring at my mother whenever I saw her. After all, it was her fault this was about to happen to me, the biggest hypochondriac on the face of the planet. Upon getting signed in at the office, the doctor asked me if I had any last requests. No joke. I told him only one: stick the damned IV in my arm, not in my hand. Then they brought me to the back, where this overly bubbly nurse told me exactly what was going to happen as she practically tied me down to the table and finally stuck the needle in me. She gave me a relaxer... *grin*... which I enjoyed. And then she gave me the nitrous oxide... which made things even better. Then the doctor came in and gave me the last drug-- and I was out like a light. Hell, whatever he gave me should be put on the market for people suffering from insomnia. What seemed like five minutes later, I woke up seated in an upright position as high as a kite. In spite of the fact that I forgot where I was and what my name was, I felt the best at that moment then what I have in years. Oh yeah. In spite of the confusion, I was in a feel-good mood. Thank God for those drugs. I remember being led out the back and into my mom's car, who thought I would pass out on the way home, but I was surprisingly alert. When I got back home, she made me take three different pills, drink chicken broth, and put me to sleep on the couch. I slept for about an hour or two. And then the phone rang. It was Jessica, asking about me. Suddenly I was wide awake. "Sure! Come over after your hair appointment!" Then Christine called. "Sure, come over after you get back from NKU!" My mom was like, "WHAT?!?!" An hour later, I was on my feet demanding jello and checking my e-mail and stuff. Christine came over; I was still feeling a little woozy from the drugs and my chin was numb, but other than that I was ready to party. Jessica came over, and we had a smashing good time. And then Kat came over with two flavors of pudding. We watched Queer Eye For the Straight Guy and-- hell-- I felt so good! So swelling, no pain, a little sore from where they pulled my four wisdom teeth, but other than that I was freakin' bouncing off the walls demanding cookies and pudding and jello. My mom and my grandmother were floored-- because it seemed like absolutely nothing had happened to me. *** Anyway, I gotta cut this short because I'm off to the movies...
