The Diary of Queen Mothy |
C'est la vie. written @ 9:31 PM on October 07, 2002 Ye Spirits, I read the fourth Harry Potter book today. You guys, I know precisely what I'm going to get you for Christmas if you don't have the Harry Potter collection. I tell you, the fourth book my jaw had hit the floor. 38 days until the American premiere of "The Chamber of Secrets." I am so giddy now about it that I can't talk about it anymore. Oh, and www.harrypotter.com is totally awesome. Anticipate a Howler coming to your in-boxes ASAP! Watch the new trailer on the site too! This week marks the start of mid-terms. I didn't take a test, per se, but I met with a one-on-one conference with my rather animated two-dimensional design professor today. "You know what you're doing," he said. But as always, I have to work on my craftsmanship. Then he asked, "Are you going into graphic design because you want to, or because you can make a decent living at it?" That cut to the heart of everything. Who was I kidding? I told him the truth. "Because I can make a decent living out of it." Then I told him of my grand schemes, that graphic design would be good paired with my other major. I rambled on about what I wanted to do, almost forgetting he was there, saying that, ultimately, I did not choose a private art school because I did not love my choice of major enough to sacrifice everything else I loved for it. He listened quietly. When there was a lull in my soliloquy, he said, "That was an extremely smart thing to do." So... I'm three for three when it comes to making a "good decision." The first person to say I was doing somethig smart was Mr. Hagaman, the second Joe ye god Theater Chair, now the third my art teacher. I began painting again today. It actually felt good. Over all, it was an A-OK day. Quite decent considering why the only reason why I wasn't late for class was because a stuffed animal fell off my bed and woke me up. Ah well. C'est la vie.
