The Diary of Queen Mothy |
When a Visitor Came Knocking written @ 9:46 PM on September 14, 2002 Christine came down to the NKU campus today. It was painfully nice to speak to a real person, even though I think she was painfully bored. What can I say? I wasn't exaggerating when I said it's a dead campus on the weekend. She stayed most of the afternoon, and then I went to dinner. Met Brad and Derrick there. I tell you, those guys are a couple of yellow peas in a green pod. I like 'em though. They're the only two in the entire theater department, it seems, who don't pretend to be what they aren't. I always knew that most theater people are shallow/fake, but I am completely overwhelmed here. What cut-throat competition. Everything that I dreaded about theater in high school has at last come true in college. It makes me wonder how I'll get through the darkness here, how I'll pull ahead of the race and succeed in the end. Well, I can't say I'm truly in the mood for philosophical/enlightened rambling this evening. I just spent the evening doing #2 out of three self-portraits for my Drawing II class. Due Thursday. Along with a paper. And a quiz in math. And... and... *sigh* I just want to spend a nice quiet evening by myself now.
