The Courtesean's Entourage written @ 11:54 PM on July 05, 2003 All last night and *all* today the friggin' power at my house has been off. Let me tell you, it is damn hot. After the storm, it was turned on for our strip of the neighborhood (no thanks to the Cinergy punks), but it's taken a while to cool down. Maybe now I can catch some sleep. But, alas, due to the power outage, the ice cream in the freezer is no more. *melancholy sigh* Website of the day: For genealogists out there, I recommend www.findagrave.com . I found only one of my relatives on this site, but as my family is extremely elusive, it was a stroke of luck! And who knows? Maybe you can find someone, too. Compliments of squirrelx. *** So since last night the basement has been really crowded due to an influx of activity in the afterlife, and quite frankly, the dozen or so wandering souls down there are annoying me. Basically, it seems as though they've decided to set up camp in the basement, and it seems as though a nineteenth century English courtesean is their "ring leader." (According to Jessica) They're still down there as I type this. Not sure what the hell they're doing except it seems as though they're having a war council. I guess I don't mind that they're visiting, but as they've been here for over two days, I hope my house doesn't become a permanent residence or a home base. Not that I can do anything about it. In any case, the parental units were trying to figure out why my little powwow from yesterday refused to go down into the basement, and I tried to explain to them that there were a dozen or so spirits down there who really didn't appreciate mortal company too well beyond moderate toleration. At which they rolled their eyes at me and discredited what I was sensing. What did I expect? That they'd believe me? If I keep mentioning it off-handedly for the rest of the summer, they might have second thoughts. But whatever. The point is there are some sour temperaments among that "little" group, one of which took a few swings at Jessica this afternoon. I have a feeling that the ghosts are going to be on their guard a little more now that I'm slowly catching onto their game and have acknowledged them aloud. *sigh* And my house used to be so clean of supernatural activity, too. I wonder what happened. The next few days are going to be interesting; I'm keeping close tabs on them. I really don't trust that lady and her entourage.
