The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Musical Words written @ 6:10 PM on March 16, 2002 Last night was kinda fun. Kat, Ash, and I were going to go to The Coffee Affair for a mocha or something, and then we were going to go to Borders. But the weather was pretty bad last night, and Kat deemed herself blind to the lines on the road, so she and I just came back to my house and continued our game of Myst III. Ash never made it. Today I spent most of the day at school on the Spark deadline weekend. I finished my opinion column on the commercialization of tragedies, my editorial cartoon, ad designs, a couple of other things. It was a productive day. Tonight I think I'll get my homework out of the way and just have fun on the computer. There's stuff to be done, songs to download, etc. Think I'll continue my website, too. You know, I was just thinking not too long ago how I would somehow like to write so well that my stories would sound like beautiful music than systematic sentences hoping to raise the imaginations of my readers. To be honest, I have read few authors who can do that (Peter S. Beagle, Anne Rice, to name the ones that instantly come to mind). My writing at this point is entering a transition that is steadily maturing to a publishable quality, but it will be a while before it's like music. One day, I suppose. One day. I guess I just have to keep writing until one day it clicks and falls into place. But such is a goal of mine. I believe words do carry a power in them that is borne forth with the right combination of thought and emotion. I have a long way to go, but I'll keep going.
