The Drama Continues in Registration written @ 1:10 PM on November 20, 2002 The drama continues. Recently I was looking at my schedule data online for first semester, and I noticed that I technically was still not registered for Drawing II. If my avid readers remember, my AP credit had transferred over during the fourth week of school, enabling me to skip out of Drawing I and plunge into intermediate drawing. According to the chairman and the registration office, everything was all hunky dory and I could go on my merry little way. *deep grimace* Except I've been going on my merry little way and everything has not been hunky dory. I thought perhaps the problem was all a matter of the computer system, and the problem would right itself the moment my professor sent in my final grades. Just to be sure, however, I planned on going to the registration office last Friday and having a lovely chat with the smarmy idiots behind the front desk who seem hellbent on ruining my college career... Or so the histrionic side of me rants. However, I ended up not going to the registration office on Friday because it was National Harry Potter Appreciation Day, and I thought to let the smarmy idiots have a good day on this lovely holiday. I know I did. That story at 11. So after completing some final projects, I had some free time this afternoon to run some errands, and I went to registration. To make a long story short, they have no record of me anywhere in their system entering intermediate drawing. I screwed up my jaw as I tend to do when I'm annoyed, and I pointed out that *they* were the ones who said everything was hunky dory and I could go on my merry little way! Essentially what would have happened is if I had not gone to the office and bitched, I would not have received any credit at the end of the semester for Drawing II. No. Oh no, let us make things more difficult for Sam Reno, they say. Let's send her to the Dean's office and get those people to straighten this mess out. I forgot I even had a Dean. His office was located in the library, so I trudged my way there like a soldier going into a war as futile as Vietnam. I ended up speaking to the assistant Dean, who then sent me to the chairman of the art department's office. The chairman was standing outside smoking and nervously pacing like he does every morning and afternoon when he's on break, but he is such a nice guy that I can't complain about him. It wasn't his fault. I explained the problem over-- he remembered who I was, the dear-- and he began dialing phone numbers. I'm not sure whether the problem was rectified. He said something about contacting me what the verdict of my situation was at a later date. I'm really annoyed, though, and I'll be pissed if I don't receive credit for that class. I am entitled to receiving credit, dammit! So now I think I'll drown myself in my work in an attempt to forget about this problem. The only problem is that my work is art work, and that doesn't really help if you want to forget about a registration problem having to do with an art class. *** In other news, I think I'm addicted to caffeine.
