The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Seeing Red written @ 5:33 PM on December 01, 2003 Today was just one big hassle, or one long monotonous ring as if life at your local station is experiencing technical difficulties, or that irritating time when your Internet server fails due to "end-of-the-month processing." I have no idea what that means, but it seemed to sum up my present disposition. So there. After my classes, I drove back to West Chester for a job interview at Red Robins. Although I swore I would never go back into the food industry after the horrors of Bob Evans two summers ago, desperate times call for desperate measures and I blame my photography class for my financial woes. The very nice manager who interviewed me seemed satisfied due to my extensive background in the theater, and they offered me a job on the spot-- praise Jesus. Whether I'm serving or hosting I'm still not sure, but I'm waiting for their phone call on when I can go to orientation and figure it out then. So. A seemingly happy-ending for my job-hunting saga, but do me a favor and knock on wood. While I was driving on North-71, a car full of Indians pulled up in the left lane and were laughing and gawking at me. They were either laughing at my unicorn-motif-of-a-car or they were laughing at the fact that I'm one of those people who sing when they're by themselves on the road. Ha! I'm not sure either way, but it's bugging me. And speaking of bugs... Ever since I found out that those ladybugs infesting my room aren't really ladybugs but Asian beatles pretending to be ladybugs, my fly-swatter has gone on active duty and I've convinced all the girls in the hall that it's okay to seek and destroy, via the community white board. "But what if we accidentally kill one that really is a ladybug? We'll have bad luck!" one wrote in reply. Another responded, "There are innocent casualties in any war..." Sad but true. The rest of my week is shot. I have 50% of my photography final done, a paper for archaeology to write, a presentation and a project for stagecraft to finish, a rendering for my scenic design class, and a huge exam to study for in my international politics class. Life sucks but I'm truckin' along. What else can you do?
