The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Two 'ickle Dreams written @ 9:56 AM on January 21, 2004 I had the strangest dream last night! I was in Australia in front of a house I knew belonged to Heath Ledger (stop rolling your eyes! This is serious!), and Heath was there, as well as a bunch of his movie groupies, and his mom. With me was Jessica, Kat, Christine, and a few other members of The Posse. Everything was in the most vibrant colors set against a wild Australian landscape. It looked like it came out of a painting, and I think at one point I stopped in the street, willed a canvas board and paint palette out of no where, and began to paint the thunderstorm clouds that were rolling in the distance. Anyhow, The Posse and I walked into Heath's house and greeted him like we were life-long buddies of his. His house was kind of small, and he had a lot of cats and a pool in his backyard, where he promptly went to chill with his movie groupies. Then together we went waterskiing down a river we hadn't noticed before! And in spite of the fact that I have never waterskiied in real life, I was really good! Some where along the lines Jessica got pissed off because Heath wasn't paying any attention to her (or the rest of us, for that matter), and she decided she was going to destroy the house, gut his cats, and ruin Heath's acting career. I spent the rest of the dream attempting to stop her diabolical, menacing behavior while she argued with me that Heath was rude, a prick, and deserved every bit of the destruction she schemed. In the end to save my dear Heath Ledger's life, The Posse and I had to drag Jessica from the house, where we promptly got lost in the thunderstorm. The dream ended. For you dream interpreters, knock yourselves out on this one. *** I had my first production meeting yesterday afternoon, where I presented my sketches for the sets to A Piece of My Heart. I was so nervous because I was afraid Mike and the others would tear my ideas to shreds. But just the opposite happened, I'm pleased to report. Mike seemed floored that I brought things together so quickly and had solid designs. Except for a few areas on the sets that need to be tweaked, it's a go for me! Ron and a few other advisors gave me some things to consider as far as dimensions in the Black Box Theater go, but otherwise everyone seemed really excited about my work. Which is a huge weight off my shoulders. Afterwards, Rob came up to me and told me how proud he was of my work, and that my set designs will "bring a magic back to the theater." And that really made me feel good. I'm excited now. I think this show will possibly be the best one this semester, and one of the most intense dramas we have ever staged. And for my first set design work in the theater, I might be on to bigger and better things from here.
