The Diary of Queen Mothy |
A Mystery Solved? written @ 6:53 PM on January 19, 2004 "All work and no play makes for a dull human being," my grandmother is periodically known to trill to me. My mother, her daughter, says to me, "Work is what you're in school for." And so we come upon me, part of the third generation of women in my small clan, who simply believes in means justifying an end to some degree. All too often I find myself, while hopelessly addicted to my work, both in school and art, I dearly want to draw away from it and-- hell, I don't know-- do something spontaneous like take a random road trip or a shopping expedition even when no one has money nowadays. But somehow I've become an exception to the rule, because, as M, my spirit guide, has so often assured me, I have a plan and it's one I've got to stick to. Subconsciously I've always known I would have to make sacrifices and choices if I'm to accomplish my life's mission, but even so I sometimes wish I didn't feel so removed from the general college-going populaces. Don't ask me what brought this up, because I don't know and I'm rambling on about random thoughts. On to more productive notes, which might interest members of The Posse. *** I finished Sylvia Browne's latest book about ghosts, spirits, and the nature of hauntings, hoping to gleam an explanation as to chaotic events that occurred at my house this summer, and she brings up some interesting thoughts on the paranormal which I would like people such as Jessica, Christine, and perhaps Mia and Deb to consider... First of all, all ghosts don't know that they are dead, and if you happen to catch one that does realize this, they are considered "spirits" and have completely different characteristics from the usual ghosts. This makes for a very marked difference in the types of entities that we were dealing with at my house. For example, ghosts will exhibit bodily injuries dealt to them in life and have a broad range of human emotions, including malice and revenge, while spirits have been "neutralized" by all emotional earthly handicaps and will instead radiate positive energy and forces. Ghosts tend to dwell on our earthly plain while spirits always seem to hover three feet above ours, and that's because their astral plain exists a mere three feet above ours. So... if you're thinking in terms of what happened at my house this summer, let's put a few things in perspective and answer some of our questions, shall we? First of all, putting Deb in a trance that night was like laying out the welcome mat. In all actuality, the ghost that channeled through her, Keemu, probably died from disease out in the wilderness and she "woke up" not realizing she had died. Therefore, she did not pass over to the afterlife and remains earthbound. But by opening Deb up, this brought in the huge cascade of ghosts as exhibited by events in the following days because here at last was an opportunity for us-- the living-- to hear their stories and for them to finally get attention from a group of sensitive people who could hear and sense them-- after centuries of them being ignored by the living masses. Now, how do the ill-intensioned ghosts of Caroline, the Arab, and the satanic witch fit in to all this? Remember there were two conflicting parties': Caroline and Briget. Briget knew she had long passed, so she came to my house as a spirit. Caroline obviously couldn't face the music, and she had her two dark companions and a host of other ghosts in their "army." What her intensions were with so many people following her, I still haven't a good picture, but I think the purpose of being the strong power player among the many confused ghosts there was just that: to remain the power player even in death. The Arab was her consort, and she was locked in an internal power struggle with the satanic witch. Now, I think I've come up with a good reason why Briget and Marcus's party were there: they were trying to get the masses of confused spirits to pass on to the Other Side and out of Caroline's clutches. People like Keemu, who haven't realized they are dead, were stuck in the middle of a small battle, as it were. That was the purpose of those meetings spirits and ghosts had on my back porch those July nights. Briget was trying to convince them to pass on, and Caroline was diluting them with her own lies-- lies that she fervently believed. Briget was also trying to do us a favor by getting them out of the house so I could resume living a "normal" life. Briget succeeded in getting the two little girls, who died in abject poverty and terrible conditions, on her side at the very beginning. They have since passed on, I believe. Obviously Marcus-- who was there by either coincidence or joined Briget when he recognized Jessica was involved in this situation with me-- came to aid in spirit form (and probably has not incarnated since his last life with Jessica, by the way). By the end of the whole fiasco, Briget actually succeeded in getting many of the ghosts to pass on. I don't know if she convinced Caroline or the witch, but neither of them are there any longer. Some of the ghosts are still at the house, like Keemu. Keemu is sticking around because she is still very confused and found some shelter at the house, and she's also awaiting her next opportunity to speak to us. The others that are still there are simply either watching out, like the old man and the lady in gold, or remain unconvinced. I think I have come very close to solving this mystery that I've turned over in my head since July. But I would like my "friends o' esoteric" help me confirm any of it. Most of my assumptions come from what I've learned from Sylvia Browne's book, and then a lot of it I gleamed from M and, of course, our past experiences. Tell me what you think, guys!
