The Diary of Queen Mothy |
How Art is Killing Me written @ 10:36 AM on January 15, 2002 You know what's disappointing? My art teacher gave me a damned list of things that need to be improved on my artwork. This I am totally cool with, as it would only make me happier to improve my work so to avoid problems in the future. But. Not. During. Exam. Week. I was up until 11:30 last night working on nothing but art, and I didn't even accomplish a fraction of what I needed to do on those two paintings I slaved over this weekend. Plus I had a third piece due. Art class is driving me crazy. You see, it isn't the flawed flow of energy and knowledge in the brains of artists that make them crazy-- it's their prep classes! All three pieces are due today, and all three look pretty bad. Of course, my peers love them and wanted me to make scanned computer copies for them before I graduate, but it doesn't help my cause. God, what am I going to do? I haven't even started studying for my exams, which start tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have this annoying habit of working too hard and putting in hours of extra effort to succeed in reaching my goals. However, this desire for accomplished dreams is killing me. Hm. Perhaps that's why I called this diary "Death By Art" and it wasn't just a catchy name. But in good news, I received my first paycheck in regards to my artwork. Last October, I designed a logo for a T-shirt for the Run For Youth, sponsored by the Lakota Optimists Club. Last night one of the members came over to the huse and gave me a check for $100. Maybe that's why I'm also majoring in graphic design in college. Hopefully I'll live until then. Well, the bell's about to ring. Off to art class. Ugh.
