The Diary of Queen Mothy |
My Job Interview written @ 11:24 PM on December 06, 2002 Here's a question of ethics... If my roommate and her friends give me one ten in exchange for two fives with the purpose of buying pot off some dealer down the street, does that make me an accomplice and a bad person? I went to my job interview at Bali's Accents today. That went pretty well. Dammit, that theater training sure paid off, let me tell you. Deborah asked me, "Say I walk into the store. What now?" "I'd say, 'Hello, if you need any help, just let me know.'" "'Well, I'm not quite sure what I want. Perhaps something for my sister, but she's so picky.'" "'Well, what are her general interests? Clothes? Jewelry?'" "'She likes silver.'" "'Sterling or half?'" I was milking it for everything it was worth. Talk about improv. Thank you, Uncle Alan, for teaching me that stuff. "'Sterling.'" "'That's good. Does she have a favorite gemstone? Garnet, amethyst, opal, or pearl?'" LOL Score one for Sam! Overall, it went better than I expected. I hope I get the job. It would be fun to work there, and plus you can bet my paycheck will get recycled into company profits as I buy all the neat crap Deborah has in that store. I am so not motivated to do any work, although I am prodding along. I am delaying the inevitable, I think.... *sigh* Nothing really much to say. I'm screwing around on the Internet instead of studying, so... Yeah.
