Mashugga-Nuns written @ 9:58 PM on April 06, 2004 Well, the verdict is in: I ended up getting a 102% on that goddamned art history exam that I've been fretting over for two weeks. The unfortunate part of all this is that my professor doesn't believe in grading his students above a 100%, so two points were knocked off my final score. The moral of the story? I think I'm going to freak out more often. In spite of what this is going to do to my nerves and blood pressure, my GPA tends to do better this way, I find. *** I don't know if I've mentioned this yet, but I'm officially designing my first musical this summer, Mashugga-Nuns. "What the hell is that?" I hear the populaces cry. It's yet another variety musical based off the Nunsense series that you periodically flip through on PBS. What's the "plot" of this show? Well, to be honest, there is no plot-- I think "premise" is the right word. The crazy nuns end up on this cruise line, only to discover the entire cast of Fiddler on the Roof except Tevye has fallen ill. So it's up to the nuns to entertain the paying customers. Catholic nuns speaking Yiddish strikes a tableau of insane irony in my mind. Yeah. It's that... bizarre. As far as the sets go, I have a few gleaming ideas, but this one is going to be a little more difficult to pull off than A Piece of My Heart. Not a whole lot of art in this one, you know? As the age-old line goes: "It's back to the drawing board." Literally.
