The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Naps and Dark Circles written @ 3:47 PM on October 22, 2002 Here's a miscellaneous fact for the day: There are 1,820,000 sites devoted to Harry Potter on the Yahoo! search engine. Does that not put a smile on your face? Today was aright. The critique in art class went very well. I think my work was a little bit too deep for the class's comprehension, but this piece was devoted to the posse, so it really doesn't matter what they think. My professor really liked it. She usually picks the best ones to adorn the fourth floor lobby wall, but she never lets anyone know who is going up beforehand. Until today, that is. She asked me to think of ways to hang the plywood on the drywall out in the lobby. Probably going to go with barclamps or something like that. So that was good news. We finished watching "El Norte," that bizarre little Guatamalan film, in immigration experiences. Really, what a bizarre little film. If the script wasn't so cheesy in the beginning, I probably would have appreciated it more. Get this, the leading girl dies from a fever induced by the rats that attacked her while climbing through a sewer pipe trying to get into this country illegally. Gruesome, a film to see when Hollywood has a shitty blockbuster year. Then math, dear, dear old math class, my professor announced we could have a cheat sheet for the test. With that class, it's totally laughable, but I'm not one to let the train of opportunity chug by. I received some mail from home today, which always brightens my day. My mom sent me $5. Not enough, but money will be money. Plus she sent me the Sunday comics, which I miss like something fierce, and some coupons for this cream that gets rid of the dark circles under your eyes. I've had these damned dark circles under my eyes since I was 8! (what a stressful life I lead, I know, please pity me) So I'm curious to see what this cream stuff will do. The rest of my evening is free. I could do homework, I suppose, but why do homework when you can procrastinate? I think I'll catch up on some long term projects. You all know me well enough to know which ones. Right now, a nap sounds good.
