Ye Olde Chorus written @ 9:58 AM on January 10, 2002 Well, good news. I made the chorus for "Little Shop of Horrors!" Even though I haven't had the part of an extra since... well.... the sixth grade, I was very grateful. In fact, yesterday we just had our first chorus rehearsal, and I'm singing second soprano at this point. I may upgrade myself to first soprano, depending on how my voice is doing in future rehearsals. I'm very excited about this play. It's not my favorite still, but most of the chorus has to choose characters within the city-- think Village People for this one-- and I called dibs on the city beatnik. It's going to be hilarious. People are going to instantly pick Sam the Artist out on stage. And, as always, I'm the play's art director. We're pretty much recycling the old "West Side Story" sets, but I'm hoping to add new twists. Hey, with a talking plant in the show, I can choose to be surreal if I want to! But this year I need to choose an assistant art director to take my place after I graduate. So far, there's this junior named Ashley who's an extremely strong candidate, although I would like to choose a sophmore to give them the full art director experience like I have. Well, whatever the case, the apprenticeship starts Monday.....
