The Diary of Queen Mothy |
The Two Rainbows written @ 9:27 PM on October 02, 2002 I saw a double rainbow today after the storm. It was the most amazing thing. The most prominent one of the two stretched from ground to ground and illuminated the trees through which it passed. The trees in this field were so bright from the rainbow that you half-expected for there to be a pot of gold sitting there for you, and all you had to do was walk half a mile over the land to claim it. The rainbow was so bold that it was like the St. Louis Arch had been painted and dropped over the NKU campus. The second one was not as distinct but was there all the same through the cloudy mists of rain. It was really something to see. I thought it was amazing how everyone stopped what they were doing, stopped their rush to class or to home, stopped their cars in parking lots, stopped to see the double rainbow. You would think that no one around me had seen beauty in the natural world before, and this was a renaissance of living. For once there was color in lives they thought dull.
