The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Lucky Charms Day written @ 4:31 PM on October 03, 2002 I knew it was going to be a fair day since they had Lucky Charms in the cafeteria cereal bin. My portrait of my restless model came out rather well in Drawing II. I'm just about to call it quits on it and do something else. My work was reviewed by the professor, and she's more than pleased about how I was coming along. I think she's looking forward to my work. She's stressing conceptual work with a realistic foundation, and I think that's a decent jumping-off point for me considering I hate abstraction. We'll see how the next homework assignment goes. I think I'll draw from my diary for inspiration. Immigration experiences was okay today. We're just talking about Latino immigration and working on our ancestry papers. I'm going with the other freshmen Honor students to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra tomorrow night for a little cultural fling. And guess who's driving? Aye! Math sucked. I tell you, the material is so easy that it brings me back to the sixth grade, but Dr. Moore's grading methods are both vulgar and unethical. It is my guess that I have a C in his class now because of all the points he takes off for the work that I do on the tests-- never mind that I got the right answers on all the problems, the "work was 'wrong'" dammit! Good God, if you get the right answer, what does it matter? The ends justify the means, don't they?! In any case, I'm just taking it easy a bit before I go to dinner, and then embark on a night of homework. I have consistently avoided Brad for the past four days now, and I'm still going strong. Speaking of odd people, there's this one guy in my drawing class-- so I've noticed today-- who has blonde hair, a dark brow, and is as tall as a Middle Earth elf. If he would only clean up a bit and shave his sideburns, I swear to God he would look like an older Legolas. Speaking of Legolas, I am halfway through the "Two Towers." What a great book. I like it better than "Fellowship." I should finish before next week, if all goes well. And then I'm hitting the fourth Harry Potter book. I received a letter from my best friend in the eighth grade, Ciji, today. She seems to be thoroughly enjoying the college scene. I tell you, if I ever met anyone who is "blonder" than me, it would be Ciji. No wonder we got along so great, aside from the Mega Fight in the 8th grade, but that's ancient history, you know? I trust we'll be coming to visit one another by spring break at the earliest. I would love to see her again and catch up on things. Overall, I'm just trying to keep busy. As soon as I finish my work for this weekend, I'm going to finalize my character studies for my first book and begin writing again. It's going to be tough because I have a lot of things to accomplish, but if I work consistently tonight and all tomorrow, I should be set for a break. Why aren't you people updating your diaries?
