The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Hell Frozen Over? written @ 10:19 PM on October 08, 2004 Dad yanked my mother's membership to the gym due to expenses with the divorce, so Mom has taken to going on evening walks around the neighborhood with her headphones on. The other day she was taking a walk and she noticed a dog traveling along the street. These two vans pulled up, one right behind the other, and this guy wearing those sharp leather dress boots jumped out of the driver's seat and actually fucking kicked the dog while the passengers in both vans began laughing. Mom stopped and glared at the guy and snapped, "I hope he bites your leg off, you asshole." The guy glared back and the people in the vans jeered, but Mom kept on walking like she didn't even notice them. She's lucky she wasn't jumped but I was so proud of her. Because if I had seen those assholes do that I would have been less stable. Why the fuck would anyone do that?! Are their lives so low that the only way they can get a power trip is to kick an animal?! God I hate stupid, ignorant people! Fuckin' idiots. *** Okay, I'm calm again. My brother came down to school to visit me. Jeez, has hell frozen over? He and I never got along... ever since he learned how to call me a "butt head" when he was three years old... and our relationship growing up has been less than amicable. That's putting it mildly. And yet he came to visit. This might be the start of a new era. Are pigs flying over Cincinnati skies, folks? He says he is bored with the W.C. and is content to hang out in Northern Kentucky. I don't know why. I think the W.C. has more things to do than what's around NKU but whatever, I guess. He's got a friend who is, shall we say, a little rough around the edges and lives down here, so I was just a pit stop on his way over to his condo. But for 30 minutes-- the 30 oddest minutes of my life, to be sure-- we sat in my dorm and chatted like two regular people. Have the Bengals won the Super Bowl, people?! Jon now says he doesn't want to go into the military service (a good idea if Bush gets re-elected), but he wants to do drafting and construction. I have to say that I approve. He's always been good at hands-on stuff and building things is his forte. The problem is his grades aren't good enough to get him into a respectable school, and to be frank, he hates school and Mom is a little leery of sending him off to college when he still needs to be dragged out of bed every morning and forced to do homework as a senior in high school. On the other hand, he is a senior in high school and needs to decide soon. So we'll see. Ten bucks says he ends up coming here for college.
