The Diary of Queen Mothy |
The "Les Miz" of the Theater World written @ 11:58 AM on April 03, 2003 I've been thinking about senior year of high school and how Mikey and Jeff wanted to do a musical featuring the drama, the lives, the inexplicable tragedy of being a technician in the theater. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a good idea. Like the grips and the stagehands would be the Paris mob in times of civil strife-- very "Les Miserables"-- and demand payment and recognition and work from the theater tech unions and stuff. The designers would be the bourgeoisie, the ones running the economy and extending their monetary power to other areas of the theater. And the stagemanager is soooo Jean Valjean, with the ASM backing him or her up as Javert. I wanted to kill Brian last night because he was so like Javert, even if he was right and I was wrong in the first place. Yeah, a little more thinking on this, and I should have everything planned out. Okay, so it was *almost* a good idea. So sue me. I've had a lot of things on my mind lately.
