Photogenic Stuff... Maybe written @ 9:02 PM on August 27, 2003 I tell you, this whole "four classes in one day for six consecutive hours straight" bull shit is going to get real old, real fast. But anyhoo... here we go... International politics was interesting; my professor basically told us that most world conflicts begin over petty, useless matters, which I kind of figured anyway... but it's always nice to hear that you were right all along about what's going on in North Korea and our friends in Iraq. *sweet smile* Damn, I'm good. In my archaeology class, my professor began to go on some diatribe about how our society is so hooked on technology that we've forgotten our basic survival methods (take a look at the blackout in NYC; even my professor thought it was laughable because people thought not having the electricity was such a great "catastrophe"), so I zoned out a little in this class because I agreed with everything he said. In Stagecraft II, we're beginning our lectures and projects on welding. *evil laugh* Mmmm, blow torches and power tools for metalworking! Fun stuff, I assure you. I was as nervous as hell going into my advanced drawing class, probably because I feel as though I'm in over my head, but once we started doing gesture drawings with a live model I came to realize that my figure drawings skills are comparable to those graduating BFA-status seniors. Thank God. I feel a little better, like maybe I might know what I'm doing... yeah right. Let's not hope for too much, shall we? I also picked up the rest of my photo supplies at this nice little joint downtown after class. Got the chemicals, the bottles, and the binder for my negatives. After dinner, I snapped a bunch of pictures of interesting weeds and other strange "formations" on campus that I'm sure everyone here wonders about at one point or another (including the army of geese), in addition to two butterflies I thought were "fighting" on a flower and, as a friend explained it to me later, were actually mating. Not entirely sure how I'm going to explain that one to my professor when I develop the film tomorrow. So now I'm done my homework and I'm simply passing the time. I plan to do some novel writing and figure out how I'm going to get my next batch of art supplies. Pretty Woman is on right now... so... Yeah, just another day in the twisted life of Sam.
