The Diary of Queen Mothy |
Tasty Toys written @ 5:11 PM on August 30, 2003 Today has been a day of toys. Yes, my friends, toys. I came home for the weekend, and upon entering the house I saw this huge fat ass printer/scanner/copier sitting on the kitchen table, thanks to my dad. And I said, "Mmmmmm, tasty." Looks as though my laptop has a new friend. Next I found a nice Canon AE camera with three lenses (one of which is a 200mm) sitting on the table in the dining room. It belonged to my grandfather, and my aunt had it Fed-Exed to the house from North Carolina to save me $500 for my photography class. It's top of the line, in spite of the fact it was purchased in 1979, and it's beautiful. I went art supply shopping this afternoon and bought some fun stuff like vine charcoal, new erasers, and a load of colored paper, and now my school shopping is just about complete. I feel like I am about to enter a personal artistic Renaissance after two years of being creatively sucked dry. Suddenly I have all sorts of ideas and I'm getting my mojo back at long last. Keep your fingers crossed; hopefully the school will grant me a studio space. If so, I'm moving onto the fourth floor of the Fine Arts Center and surviving on nothing except coffee, Raman noodles, and my own genius. *clever grin*
